Project overview
KasaBridge brings typed text, camera-detected sign language, and Akan speech into a communication application for speech-impaired users. It offers more than one way to express a message, with text and visual input feeding into spoken output. The emphasis on Akan makes local-language communication a central part of the product rather than an addition to an English-only workflow.
The application is built as a TypeScript PWA, with computer vision supporting the camera-input path. Offline support and live meeting integration address different settings in which people need to communicate. Together, these capabilities connect the recognition work to a practical interface and delivery format, so the project is about the full communication experience as well as the underlying model interaction.
