Nmap & Scapy Lab

This lab explores network security through both service discovery and packet-level analysis. Nmap provides a view of hosts and exposed services, while Scapy and Wireshark support closer inspection of network traffic and protocol behaviour. The work includes reconnaissance, SMB enumeration, and packet capture within an ethical-hacking environment.

The deliverable is a documented investigation rather than a user-facing application. Its value lies in connecting a tool's output to a method and a finding: what was examined, what the traffic or service response showed, and how that evidence informs an understanding of the network. Kali Linux and Python provide the environment for the exercises and their supporting tooling.
